Wow I haven't written in this journal in a while..I've been posting more updates on my twitter account @helloitsben , i guess it's just because It's connected to my phone and it allows me to post about things as they happen. I would post this entry on twitter but that was designed for quick updates, for something im about to blurt out, this would require the power of my xanga account.
Anyway, Im having one of those crappy weekends. I guess it all started on thursday when the executives at work asked me to plan and implement a category 6 ethernet network at the new office our company will be moving into next week. I agreed knowing this would be a fun job. So I put together a small team comprised of my friend who just graduated from college and an intern. The installation went smooth and it was a one day job. We were there from 9am till about 1:30am the next morning running 48 ethernet wires in the ceiling, the walls and termininating all these wires at each end and at the patch panel. We installed almost 5miles worth of gigabit ethernet cable. That was a really impressive task for a team of 3. Unforntuately the property manager thought we trashed the hell out of the place but more on this later.
The next day I came into work only to start sneezing my face off because of all the dust i breathed in at the new office. The place was just painted and the floor and ceiling had so much dust, my black shirt I was wearing turned white by the end of the day. I ended up going home early because I could not stop sneezing and every time i tried to type something it would come out like "'ptkdl;ahkiv/W". Bahh
So half way through the day, I get a call from one of the executives who informed me that the property manager was freaking out because aparently my team "trashed the whole warehouse and put holes and foot prints all over the walls and broke lighting fixtures". In my mind I was thinking "wtf? we did not have a friggin party in there".
I called the contractor and asked what the damage was and I said I'd come by on saturday to look at it. By the end of Friday I was feeling like ass I didnt even have the energy to go to my DJ gig in Huntington Beach, plus Trina was mad at me for some reason.
Saturday I get up and head to frys to get some things to complete the network installation and I headed to the new office to look at the damage and put the finishing touches on the network.
Here's some of the damage:
we were accused to doing this to the wall in the warehouse. we were not working in the warehouse, we were working in the offices.
apparently we put three large scratches in this area, those wires there are not our wires. she also accused us of punching that hole there.
this part of the ceiling was never touched as our cable run was on the other side of the room
these two were caused by my friend who fully admitted to breaking those and he didn't bother telling me, he accepted full responsibility.
Ok just because this was near our distribution box does not mean we caused it. we were not even near that wall.
we had to cut a hole in one of the tiles to get these cords down into the box (don't mind the duct tape, we ran out of zip ties ;p)
she said this tile was destroyed.
um, this tile is nowhere near any cables we ran.
To replace those damaged tiles, it is coming out of my pocket. FAiL.
So I leave the place and I decided to call my friends to find out if anything was going on but apparently not. So I drop by Cyndi's and basically got harassed by Trina coz she was intoxicated and she told me to leave. WTF did I do. Cyndi told me to stay but I was so pissed off from having a shitty weekend I just left. Cyndi tried calling me to come back but i just turned off my phone coz I was jsut not in a good mood.
It is now 1:47 am in the morning, sunday and Im supposed to go out with Mylinh later since me and her were too busy to have our little outting but right now I feel like complete ass and in such a bad mood that I might have to just cancel and shut everyone out for a day, maybe even a week. Hell I should just go to Hawaii and cut communication to the mainland for a while.
